My business is run to minimise the impact its activities have on the environment. Working in an international environment inevitably results in the need to travel. Writing reports results in the need for paper. I have therefore established business practices that aim to reduce the environmental damage resulting from these activities.

Transportation
Air travel
Air travel is one of the fastest growing contributors of carbon emissions. Where international travel is required for business purposes, I neutralise the impact through the carbon calculator operated by the Carbon Neutral Company (www.carbonneutral.com). This calculates the emissions produced by each journey. I make a compensatory charitable donation to their international communities portfolio.

UK travel
Whenever practical, travel to visit clients within the UK is done using public transport. Where this is not practical, the Carbon Neutral Company calculator is again used to calculate the financial cost of the emissions produced by the miles driven.
 
Paper use
All paper-based stationery used in the business is made from recycled/FSC certified paper. The official company stationery is printed by ALocalPrinter.com (www.alocalprinter.com) – an eco-friendly printing company. All other paper-based stationery is purchased from the Green Stationery Company (www.greenstat.co.uk).

Wherever possible all outgoing communications are made using electronic communications to minimise paper use. All waste paper generated within the business is shredded and recycled.

This policy will be frequently reviewed to ensure my business practices continue to be environmentally sound.
