International development organisations exist to take risks. They operate in the poorest areas of the world. They operate in emergency situations where resources need to be made available in the minimum time. They work with local partner organisations to build capacity and assist in their development. They exist to make a difference.
At the same time they are required to account to their donors on how they have spend their funds. Their directors/trustees have a duty to ensure funds are applied for the purposes for which they are given. They rely on their reputations for future funds.
The services I provide help international development organisations to balance these risks and to be able demonstrate that they are being effective and accountable.
